Christian Heritage – Columbus, NE

We have an immediate need for a new full-time Foster Care Supervisor in the Northern Service Area (NSA), District 5. We have been managing this area by splitting it out among the other service area Supervisors (CSA, ESA and SESA). We’re ready to move forward and establish an office in this service area at this time. The successful candidate will oversee and provide all foster care services to children and families at least initially until this area program grows, including day-to-day management of foster care. In addition, the successful candidate would assist with recruiting qualified foster parents in this service area. This person is responsible for selection and delivery of the highest possible quality program and services; establishment of standards and youth acceptance criteria; management of all referral activities. The successful candidate must be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the population we serve. This is a full-time position that requires flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends, in order to be available at times of crisis. The individual will be responsible for 24/7 on-call duties.

Qualifications
All qualified applicants must be at least 21 years of age and either graduated from high school or received GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field is required, and a Master’s is strongly preferred. Must be available to consult on problematic behaviors of youth and programmatic issues 24 hours a day, seven days a week; will serve as a fully functional Foster Care Specialist in the absence of an available staff person; will be required to travel to all locations within designated region as needed to meet with staff, agency and school officials, youth and families; can be required to make presentations and provide public relations for various community needs; must have the ability to understand and work within budget parameters; pace is often fast and workflow is steady; position requires initiating and maintaining numerous internal and external relationships. The individual must have the ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. Computer skills required. Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
