They are liars!
Administrative Assistant, Transmission Engineering (Former Employee), Vancouver, WASeptember 20, 2013
Pros: good benefits
Cons: everything about the people who work for them
Worked through them on a government contract and the person assigned to me was a liar! She would say anything to protect herself. Then upon reporting it the HR department became aggressive and belittled me.

Horrible and I am glad they are out of our area!

As a digital training facility manager for Ciber I was contracted to maintain six classrooms and have them ready and available for a variety of Army training classes. This involved scheduling classes, keeping all equipment ready to go, and maintaining a professional demeanor with coworkers and customers.

Top Shelf Organization specializing in IT professonals
Sr. Consultant | IT - Store Systems Support (Current Employee), Sidney, NEAugust 15, 2013
Ciber is a highly professional contracting organization dedicated to highly skilled employees from the US and India.

The management shows to be motivated toward providing support where needed, yet not showing an over concern for all the details involved by the contracted employee.

soap opera
Ex Employee (Former Employee), Tampa, FLAugust 7, 2013
Pros: paycheck while billable
Cons: fired when no longer billable
Pure body shop with a whole host of problems in the Tampa office...mostly the practice was inept management who did not understand a basic scope of work document. Of course this led to hiring mis-matched skills on staff. This led to angry clients and a round of hit and miss hirings and firings. And then there were the real problems caused by a VP and direct report relationship....well they are both gone, but some of the cronies are still part of the circus.

East Coast vs. West Coast
Project Manager at Microsoft (Former Employee), Kirkland, WAJuly 25, 2013
Ciber was a great company! They had the feel of a family, they gave bonuses to all employees; referral bonuses, yearly bonus, and business bonus. The benefits were average for the type of business and the managers were awesome. Then the East coast office became HQ and East coast exec's began making business decisions based on their culture rather than listening to their west coast managers. Sad to say, Ciber lost most of their contracts with a large company head quartered in Puget Sound. Lose of contracts equals lay-offs.

Do not have good resources to support customers growth.
It is a very silo environment and not enough team players.

No committment to employees, poor benefits
Consultant (Former Employee), Southfield, MIJune 4, 2013
Pros: free professional training from ciber, co-workers are professionals
Cons: poor health insurance package, poor sales force, management needs to practice what it preaches
Ciber had the sales department managing the consultants. Sales are sales and not managers for a reason. The corporate mission is to sell consulting services as IT experts (like the big 6), but in reality consultants are sold as staff augmentation. They really don't have the sales expertise to sell consulting services, only staff augmentation. Sales needs to do a better job selling the services of CIBER as more than just a contracting house. If your contract ends, they do try to find another contract for you, but if not, you are let go.

The Michigan office is the largest in the nation, but it has the worst health, dental and vision insurance. You are stuck with an HMO.
