General Manager, Deer Park, IL - October 17, 2015
This company has been a huge part of my life for a very long time. It has always been an enjoyable experience, with great upper-management leadership and support. Like any company, they expect more for less these days, and it gets worse every year. It can be tiring when you spend the majority of your day working instead of enjoying life. As a hard-working individual, I take my job performance very seriously, so I put in the hours to make sure I perform for my company and produce results. If I wanted to be mediocre, I'm sure this wouldn't be an issue, but I can't help it! There are fantastic benefits, especially once you reach the general manager or Corporate employee levels, which is why they encourage internal advancement - they want to promote their own! Today, the most difficult part of this job is keeping my building staffed. I can't keep teenagers and young adults motivated to stay at a job that doesn't pay as well as Chipotle, Victoria's Secret, local grocery stores, etc. I have constant turnover, which is incredibly stressful especially when we are busy. They very much want you to grow personally and professionally, but unfortunately there is no time for me to enjoy my personal life.
