Good Company - Challenged - Customer Service Oriented
Assistant Manager/Business Banker (Current Employee), Pittsburgh, PA – May 16, 2013
Pros: variety of responsibilities
Cons: short staffed, long work days.
A typical day is multi-tasking. Dealing with the public and their needs is usually the most interesting and rewarding. Every day is different depending on the customer, the branch colleagues and upper management . Attention to detail while providing outstanding service is most important.

Its great to work with the public! Citizens bank makes sure to put the customers first and try and find out what will work for each individual. They have high expectations on their tellers for account openings and selling their products. The more you have the better the bonuses!

Professional and Enjoyable Company
Personal Banker (Current Employee), Flint, MI – May 1, 2013
A typical day at Citizens Bank always started with morning huddles with the entire staff. The team is engaged and very aware of what is needed for the branch and the company. The most enjoyable part of my job is finding new ways to help every client reach their financial goals; be it with a loan for a new car or roof, a consolidation of their debt, – more... or an investment to help them reach retirement. It's always a challenge when we are working against the numbers we need to achieve along with trying to focus on specifics that the client needs, but with dedication and hard work it can be attained. – less

Productive customer service specialist
Customer Service Specialist (Former Employee), Reading, PA – April 30, 2013
Pros: lunch room
Cons: only 1/2 hour
In a typical day of work I will assist any customer waiting in the lobby for any banking needs. If no customers in the lobby I will call past customers to make sure they where doing OK with their banking needs. There was always new customers to find so visiting new business was always needed. I will generate new personal and business accounts for this – more... new customer. I will up sell stock, bonds, mutual funds while generating new appointment for are financial specialist. Team work is in my vocabulary making it easier to work together with other co-workers. The hardest part of the job is when you can find the answer to a problem, but once you do it's rewarding. What I enjoy the most from any job is the ability to help others and answering their questions. – less

Huge turn over
Banker (Current Employee), East Amherst, NY – April 25, 2013
For the 1 1/2 years that I have been with this company I have seen management change 5 times. I am the only original associate. The turn over is huge at all of the in- store branches in our region. That being said the job itself is great. Prosecting for new customers servicing their needs when it comes to banking is very rewarding. I have some amazing – more... customers that I have built great relationships with! – less

Fast paced, sometimes stressful, often rewarding
Customer Service Specialist (Former Employee), Pittsburgh, PA – April 23, 2013
Pros: "food fridays", great bonus structure, great benefits
Cons: angry customer calls, ever increasing sales demands
In a day an agent can take uo to 100 inbound calls. It can be very busy. Another thing I liked was they were very good about training us. We had a formal training class for everything from new computer systems, to the latest rules and regulations for the banking industry. The management structure is what I would call " employee friendly". There was – more... confidential data base where employees can review their managers performance. Also employees were assured that upper management would, indeed, read and consider the reviews. Because the company uses a team structure, my co-workers and I were a tight unit. Also we were united by the very angry customers who had lost money or had a fee assessed. Those calls were the hardest part of the job. The most enjoyable part of the job, besides "food Fridays" was helping a customer who has had fraud on their account. While fraud is obviously very unfourtunate, there is a certain satisfaction when you heve helped a customer through a very difficult time. – less

Going downhill fast
Teller Manager (Current Employee), Wellesley, MA – April 16, 2013
Pros: my coworkers, customer interactions
Cons: everything else
Upper management seems completely oblivious as to how much they ask the branch colleagues to do, giving us more and more meaningless tasks during my tenure, and not raising our compensation to even things out. Budgets and pensions are being slashed, customer fees are being raised, and the company is becoming more micro managerial.

Fast sales work inviroment.
Teller (Former Employee), Newark, DE – April 9, 2013
Pros: become family, having pot luck day.
Cons: somethings was never enough, too much gossip.
It was a typical Friday Afternoon, I was presently working at Citizens Bank as a back up supervisor teller. The branch manager was on PTO(Paid time off), the only Banker we had gone out for lunch. A customer new to the bank walk in to open a checking account up. I didn't want to miss out on this sale's opportunity so I simply had the customer fill out – more... a paper application, while I made copies of their ID until the Banker arrived back. My co-workers at the time didn't take action right away,so I took responsibility.

The hardest part of the job was jumping from my current position into a position I never held before. After the experience of playing the Bankers role I wanted to do more. I loved the process of opening up accounts for customers, knowing that I help them with all there questions and issues. When the Banker came bake she just had a closing conversation with the customer, the sale was done happy customer happy bank. I was acknowledge about what I did later on that week to the whole region. – less

Citizens Bank is a great place to work. I love working with the customers. My co-workers are great and management are also great. They really want you to excel in your job. The hardest part of the jobs is keeping up with the changing federal regulations.

Compensation and benefits are not the greatest. Technology could also be improved by investing in a better quality accounting platform.
