Seasonal Gardener (Former Employee) –  Eastlake, CAJuly 20, 2016
Maintain Chula Vista parks from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. Learned how to correctly make turf and other grounds presentable. My co-workers were great and we got along well. Hard aspects of the job were working on 100+ degree days. Most enjoyable parts were learning new things, and conversating with people enjoying time at the parks.

Recreation Leader (Former Employee) –  Chula Vista, CAApril 17, 2015
Typical day at work consists of checking in with supervisor that you have arrived (early). Listening to the voice mails left over night, and writing down the messages. Sweeping the halls and gym. Rest of the day is paperwork and sweeping. Excellent co-workers. Hardest part of the job was going leaving. Most enjoyable part of the job was being able to improve my community by coming in to work everyday. I learned invaluable people skills, became proficient at customer service, and learned countless work ethics.

Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAJuly 30, 2013
The hardest part of the job was lifting boxes filled with copier paper and I enjoyed 90% of everyone I worked with. A typical day at work consisted of sharing not only personal events for upcoming work events with co-workers. I left with a wealth of knowledge about At Will Employees, government vs private industries. It is always better to exercise self-control regardless of how much you believe your co-workers are 'like family.'
Pros
Flexible work hours, as long as deadlines were met, you set your own priorities
Cons
Made to feel incompetent, At Will Employee W/Out Due Process

Office Specialist, - Building Department (Current Employee) –  Chula Vista, CAOctober 22, 2012
Overall a good place to work- initially when the City was in better financial status, the atmosphere and activities were all inclusive and encouraging. When in the last 5 years budgetary constraints and tightening caused major lay-offs, and the change in morale of the workplace.
Pros
used to be the job security of a public-sector job
Cons
the insecurity of a public-sector job
