RCVOA (Former Employee), Columbus, OH – July 21, 2014
I liked being my own boss. Getting job done between 6:00 am and 2:00. The people I worked with when I worked with someone where grate. Made new and lasting friends. Liked being outside in all weather. The hardest part cleaning behind blade in summer.
Great colleagues, environment, but poor compensation/advancement
Inspector, and Emerald Ash Borer Team Member (Current Employee), Columbus, OH – May 10, 2014
Like most local governments there is a wide variety of talented employees. However, with fixed budgets and rigid pay scales one most really enjoy their job and duties. Pay and career advancements are few and far between and weigh heavily on tenure and not credentials or potential of a candidate.
Fun work place, physical and mentally stimulating, open to advancment in work place
Recreational Aide (Current Employee), Columbus, OH – May 3, 2014
A typical day as a Recreational Aid is a fun relaxed atmopher. Basically play with kids all day. Learn alot working with the kids like being patcient, learning how to get and keep kids intrust, and orgainzing programes for recration patrionts. The hardest part of the job is getting the kids and adults more involved in there recration center and in there – more... community. Overall I enjoy working as a Recreational Aid and working with co-workers who are more like family. – less
Summer Worker (Former Employee), Columbus, OH – January 22, 2014
Pros: the enviroment, the coworker, the hours and the kids
Cons: the pay was minimum wage
At this job we basically assisted recreation personnel and instructed the kids in the summer Cap City programs . We played different games such as football, basketball, swimming and many other games with kids . My coworkers were awesome , very respectful, nice and ood people to just be around , same for the managment. The most enjoyable part about this – more... jobs was that I was helping young kids learn to plays games everyday , and being a positive remodel for the kids to look up to. – less
