I managed the telephones and computers, along with the 20 staff members. I made schedules for them, set up interviews for new hires, and did interviews for my bosses when they were unable. I learned that everyone learns on their own speed. The most simplest tasks for me were some of the hardest for my co-workers and trainee's. It was hard to grasp the concept that I had to have more patience in training people over and over on a program that just comes natural to me. That made me grow into a more pleasant person to be around, stronger manager, and even better worker. I love the interaction I get to have with all of the people of the city;residents, employees, the kids. It is a great job to have!
Everyone in the city is so friendly and caring. It is like having another family
They are only part time with no advancement for full time
