Building Maintenance Worker, Largo, FL - October 17, 2016
A typical day at work for me is: at the start of my shift, I usually do a quick walk through, assessing all the work in it's entirety that I have to do for the night. I then clean and make sure that the building is free from minor repairs. Some times I am asked to assist a co-worker at his/her assigned building. I stay in constant communication with my immediate supervisor, and in the event a situation occurs where he or I am unable to handle it, we meet with our higher management team to discuss how to go about handling the situation properly. Once or twice a month I have to supply all the building with chemicals and conduct inventory on the remaining and new products that we have coming in. The hardest part of the job is, have little to no control over the major things that break down such as electrical, or plumbing. The most enjoyable part of my job is, experiencing the gratitude on the other employees' faces when they know that they can come into a fully clean and operational building and perform work in a safe, clean environment.
