If you like helping people this is the place to work. It can be a challenge with shrinking dollars but at the end of the day you go home knowing that what you've done that day is nothing short of a miracle.

Four floors underground across from the 911 systems, this office was a great change from my job in retail. I was expected to answer the phone in a timely manner and provide the citizens correct information as to which City office they needed, and the phone number to it. I also was trained to use the Radio dispatch unit to dispatch Trash, Traffic Signal – more... Repair, and Animal Regulations. Police and Fire support unit, so I spoke to many officers and firefighters, as well as the mayor and city council. – less

A typical day at work consisted of making bank deposits for the previous day, updating the mailing list, answering phones, and talking to public. I learned how a staffed recreational park runs along with a summer camp. My manager and co-workers were amazing and so helpful. I have learned so much from this Department it has given me the knowledge I need to in order to advance my career. Every day was a new day each it came with its own problems and tasks. I was lucky to have had the honor to work with so many professional and amazing people over the years.

Responsibilities include supervising sports leagues. Providing Customer Service and answering patron’s questions and resolving conflict. Setting up summer day camp for children ages 5-12 years and planning their day to day activities. Involved in budgeting, staffing and organizing weekly field trips for day camp.

On average my day would begin by clocking in first then proceeding with my daily errands throughout Los Angeles County.
