Maintenance Specialist for Parks Department, Midland, TX - December 7, 2015
Go and access the work that needed to be done such as Hvac, electrical, plumbing or painting. I would carry the tools of the trade on a four wheeler so I didn't have to go to and from the shop. There were four workers and one supervisor on location. We worked in a sports complex consisting of a high school football field and a minor league baseball stadium. We would repair whatever came up on a daily basis. I would go out and find work then report it to my supervisor. My supervisor would instruct each worker as what to do for the day. I had lots of objectives that some of the other employees knew nothing about! I ran a 80 foot Genie lift to replace flags and to work on video boards and scoreboards at both facilities. Also replaced ballasts and light bulbs, plugs, switches and breakers throughout the facility.(120 volt to 277 volt) I replaced wax rings on toilets and urinals, repaired leaking sink baskets, fixed Intersan automatic sinks and all phases of toilet and urinal flushing mechanisms. Repaired broken irrigation heads. There was so much to do I stayed busy to take care of the facilities. I had a company credit card and would make sure the other employees had the right supplies to do the job correctly. I had keys to all the doors and elevators in case of an emergency I could go and take care of it! I had all the security alarm codes to make sure whoever was called could get in besides my supervisor if he was un-available. I worked as I was needed for baseball and football games to take care of problems that might arise! I loved working there and had fantastic supervisors!!!
