Lifeguard, Mitchell, NE - February 1, 2013
I would clean the pool with fellow lifeguards and then we would establish the rotation for that day and we would sit or stand at our posts with all our equipment and monitor the people in and around the pool. When not on rotaion I could read, play cards, swim, spend time with my family and friends. My managers were firm but they would socialize with everyone like they were friends. We had alot of respect. I enjoyed most of my cooworkers and we were like a family because we really had to work as a team. The hardest part of the job was standing in the sun. I did get heat stroke once. The most enjoyable part of the job was before we opened the pool and we were all cleaning and talking and gossiping. It was peaceful and rejouvenating.
