Provides courteous customer service to residents, visitors, service providers and employees in person or over the telephone. Retrieves and returns voicemail messages and transfers calls to the appropriate person/department. Informs customers about facilities, programs, services and procedures. Provide appropriate handouts and other printed material. Processes service orders for utility accounts; including new accounts, disconnect accounts, final accounts and transfers. May perform other assignments, serve on various city committees and handle special projects as requested. Regular and timely attendance is required, as well as, the ability to get along with others in a professional and cordial manner. Opens and sorts mail. Processes utility payments, credit card transactions/payments and receipts money into the cash collection system. Functions as a City cashier. Counts and enters all money. Reconciles the cash drawer as needed. Maintains the appearance of the customer service utility counter and lobby.
