Small CPA firm
Accountant (Former Employee), Tampa, FLJune 27, 2014
Pros: learned a lot about industries and accounting
Cons: extremely long hours during tax season
Typical day was taking on a different write up client and compiling financial statements. This encompassed month end close, bank reconciliations, depreciation entries, Also prepared quarterly tax returns and annual income tax returns.
Learned about many different industries from an accounting perspective.
Co workers were other cpa's and all very professional.

Hardest – more... part of the job came during tax season when the work load about tripled and still had to completed projects on time.

The most enjoyable part was learning about he different industries and learning and talking to the 30+ clients assigned to me. – less

Productive work place
CPS / FC Manager (Current Employee), Jefferson, GAMarch 26, 2013
Pros: networking, knowledge, trained to work well under pressure
Cons: high stress, long hours, and low paid.
I have gained a lot of experience being a case manager at DFCS. Working at DFCS really prepares me for whatever job that will come after since I got to see a lot with this job. I have the opportunity to work with children that are abused physically, sexually, and emotionally. I also work with parents who are involving in drug abuse, and domestic violence – more... is common in most of the case that I'm managing. I work along side with other entities in the community to make sure the wel-being and safety of the children are met. – less

Outdoor work environment
Aquatic Weeds Control Technichan (Current Employee), Palatka, FLAugust 23, 2012
Pros: little management is required
Cons: long drives and weather
Workdays are long consisting of long drives to and from job sites. All work is done outdoors using some hazardous chemicals. The job teaches how to properly identify and control weeds, grasses, and algaes using proper chemical mixes. The job also teaches safe boat and ATV handling. The management is great allowing flexibility in scheduling and training. – more... Time management is judged by the employee and little upper management is involved with trusted employees. Co-workers are all hard working and knowledgeably. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the heat, rain, and other elements of the weather on a daily basis. The most enjoyable part of the job is the amount of freedom that is allowed in making daily decisions on job sites. – less
