Expense Coordinator (Current Employee), Norwell, MA – April 25, 2013
Pros: alot of employee activities
Cons: short breaks
I get to work by 8:30 and get started right away. I started as a Fuel Tax Specialist and moved my way over to Expense Coordinator, where I have learned about Accounts Payable, and Invoices, and how to cut an invoice. My co-workers are very nice but alot older, elderly almost. For my job type, there really isn't anything hard about it.
With the right co-workers a great productive work day
Field Services Foreman (Former Employee), Carlin, NV – December 31, 2012
Pros: a lot of work hours
Cons: some very unfriendly co-workers
some good people, friendly but there are some envious co-workers who think they are the only ones to deserve the company opportunities but when they have them, they lost it because they're bad behaviors and bad attitude, Great Management and Supervision People
Field Services Representative (Current Employee), San Jose, CA – November 18, 2012
Pros: paid vacation, personal days, medical
Cons: not enough room for growth in your position
Being a Field Services Representative is a busy job. It is being a Bookkeeper/Accountant, Administrative Assistant, Biller, Project Manager and Executive Assistant all in one day. You are the Jill of all trades for the office. I enjoy every minute of it.
Working in this position, I have learned the more in depth workings of accounting. Cost Accounting, – more... General Ledger, PO Management to name a few.
The Management is very dedicated at this company.
I enjoy all my coworkers, while we keep it professional, we still have a smile on our face and keep the day going with a positive mood.
Every part of a job is hard. That makes it a challenge and gives you more drive to learn and excel in this area.
I love what I do, because it gives me the ability to help out wherever I can and become more of an asset to the company. – less
Technician (Current Employee), Norwell, MA – November 12, 2012
Clean Harbors is an Environmental Company that many of my family members have worked for over many years. A typical Saturday includes early rising, traveling, and unloading the truck to set up the worksite. Customers come through in their vehicles in which we offload of house hold hazardous waste. The other workers are generally smart, and friendly. Hardest – more... part of the job is the heavy lifting, and the most enjoyable is socializing with the customers, and other workers while working at the same time. – less
Chemical Specialist and Lead man (Former Employee), Grantsville, UT – August 13, 2012
Pros: no pro's
Cons: work like a slave for little pay to much stress
This place is like a prison. you have no family life your there 12-14 hrs a day and nothing but drama. there is no job security at all. The gm does nothing but try to fire people and no-one there really knows what is going on and your life is in your own hands I do not recommend any one work here.... Worst job I have ever had in my life
Long hours with people who were miserable was what I encountered during my short time here. Management did not communicate well and feed back on work was non-existent. Most of the co-workers were unable or chose not to train and teach new employees the ropes.
The hardest part of the job was dealing with the miserable attitudes of my co-workers and – more... the extremely long days.
I cannot find anything that was enjoyable at this job.
I would only work there if there was a complete change in management and better work conditions. – less
Class A Driver, Liquid (Former Employee), Cross Lanes, WV – May 22, 2012
Pros: overtime, benefits are great, plenty of advancement opportunity
Cons: low hourly rate, poor management, extremely poor equipment, very unsafe conditions, no home time with family, on call 24/7/365
I loved my job at Clean Harbors but the management was very inexperienced and only cared about their bonuses. Their equipment is by far the worst I have ever driven in my 10+ years of driving trucks for a living. They are really bad about giving you a low wage and promising you raises that you will never see. Although the overtime does give you a good – more... income for the year but would be much better if they would pay what you are suppose to be getting. Benefits have been the best I've seen in my employment thus far. You will work a lot with this company, don't expect too much time at home with family. Many times you will be out of town, and up to 3 months at a time. They think on call means you have to answer your phone all the time but the competitors don't work like that. Probably needs a good union to go in and show them how to operate properly! – less
Morally sound policies, but lacks good local management
Logistics Coordinator (Current Employee), Wichita, KS – May 2, 2012
Pros: job security
Cons: local management/micro-management
Clean Harbors as a whole is a great company to work for. Their values and standards appear to be of good quality however, local management lacks the common sense and the initiative to follow those policies to better serve the company. In addition, local management uses micro-management techniques and lacks the respect of those working underneath. Everybody – more... else works diligently to always achieve success, but is constantly interrupted by the insecurity of the local GM. – less
