Little to no training, sink or swim workplace with horrible team leads/management and fake corporate culture. Expect to be required to complete 10 hours of OT per week, for 8 months or more of of the year. Don't expect your lead to be understanding of family life or even family emergencies. These will be held against you when it's time for the yearly raise, which is usually less than inflation(ie pay cut disguised as raise)

As an employee expect to be treated as a disposable resouce.

No room for advancement, Not enough pay
Vendor Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Roseville, CAFebruary 3, 2018
The work environment starting out was very friendly, positive and loved. Currently very unprofessional and stressful. Managers play favorites and unless you kiss A you won't promote. Promotions are not based on Seniority so you could be working there for years and someone with less time can promote before you. Your work doesn't speak for itself. You could have great stats and still not promote if you are not in good with management. Co-workers are very inappropriate and need constant babysitting. It's hard to concentrate most of the time because co-workers are loud and obnoxious talking about non-work related topics. Once managers leave for meetings it turns into a zoo.
Pros
Free lunch on occasions
Cons
Unprofessional andFavortism

Good for a part time job or stepping stone; not a career.
Quality Assurance Representative (Former Employee) –  Truckee, CAJanuary 31, 2018
Poor management up to executive level has hollowed out what was otherwise a great company. Team leads are near universally overworked and underpaid (not uncommon for leads to make less per hr than those they manage) leading to lots of complacency, passive aggressiveness and general apathy, which hurts morale.

OT comes in seasonal waves. When it hits, expect 10 hr minimum requests for months on end with a few weeks in between. These OT requests are mandatory and when combined with inept management, the turnover feels like 90% within a year. It also feels like the most promising/productive folks are the first to burn out. This job isn't for everyone.

Some teams are better to be on than others, and if you happen to have a good lead and a good team, it can be a highly rewarding workplace.

Benefits are decent for individuals but uncompetitive for families.

The NUMBER ONE issue that Clear Capital has is taking constructive criticism. I would read that sentence a few times over if you want to stick around.

Go in, do your job, go home . Repeat. Mundane work. No real growth. Nice building, some good perks -- good free coffee, walking the river path on breaks.

This company have no real way to balance work and life. Plan on working 60 hours a week to make 800 bucks a week. Management does not care about employees only the bottom line.

Get experience while you can, but don't drink the Koolaid
Developer (Current Employee) –  Roseville, CAOctober 17, 2017
This company does offer you a lot to learn about its industry, but the toxic corporate culture, poor management at every level, and lack of structure, process and resources plague this organization everywhere.

The Peter Principle is too prevalent at this company, and incompetence combined with poor decision-making leads to poorly executed or completely failed intiatives. A lot of hurry up and wait, a lot of frustration, a lot of wondering how you got there in the first place.

The company hides behind being one of the only tech employers in the area, and claims to be all about its employees and doing whatever it takes to meet customer needs. The truth is, they only care about the doing the latter at the expense of the former. They are under-staffed, staff are under-paid, and it is a wonder how certain things stay functioning (though not surprising when random fires have to be put out).

Do yourself a favor: don't work there, but if you must, get what you need out of it and leave as soon as you are no longer benefitting your career there.
Pros
Health coverage, OT (operations), company-sponsered events
Cons
Poor management, poor structure and processes as a data-driven company, poor workplace culture

Get thrown in the deep end and learn to swim.
Developer (Current Employee) –  Roseville, CAOctober 1, 2017
Clear Capital gives you a lot of leeway in how you execute your job and responsibilities. Given a goal, get there by any means necessary. At first, it is liberating. Eventually, it is infuriating. Management is unwilling and/or unable to help coordinate with other teams (or allow you to directly ask for help from other teams), and there are two issues with this: first, some teams do work that will eventually be throwaway in order to meet arbitrary and sometimes completely unnecessary deadlines. Second, you may have to spend an inordinate amount of time cleaning up work that would never have been implemented had proper project management been in place. This will put you even further behind on the understaffed project you should actually be working on.

Upper and mid-level management is disorganized and scattered, unable to determine even basic priorities and assign relevant work to appropriate teams. Jobs in the tech department are best as a springboard to bigger and better things - learn the skills you need and move on quickly.

The CEO and President, however, are great. He has a solid vision for the company and is an affable, thoughtful leader. It is unfortunate that his chosen delegates and surrogates are less capable.

This is a terrible company to work for. They do not value their employees and there are too many office politics going on constantly. If you want to feel like you are back in high school, this is a good job for you.

Working with the Client and the assigned appraiser to provide a timely report. Daily resolve the Holds for issues between the borrower or sales agent to gain access to the property. Resolve with any issue between the Mortgage Banker, borrower and assigned appraiser.
Hardest part of the job is the valuations across the United varies for the same square footage. The most enjoyable is to provide a quality service that meets the needs of the Client and borrower in a short time frame.
Pros
Independent work
Cons
Little communication and feedback.

Tech (Former Employee) –  Reno, NVJune 25, 2017
I as well as many of my fellow employees that have moved on have expressed concerns with some of the untrustworthy upper management practices. Those concerns were met with misapprehension. The company has such potential. They just need to clean some house before they can make any meaningful progress.

An extremely well developed and upcoming Real Estate Brokerage in Atlanta.
CEO & Managing Broker (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAJune 7, 2017
Due to the unfortunate fallout of the Real Estate market in 2007, Clear Capital like many other companies, was forced to close its doors. However, to this day, the corporation remains poised to grow again.

Quality Assurance II Representative (Current Employee) –  Reno, NVJune 6, 2017
If you do not mind being a number; the job is not a quality, it is about quantity. Management is based on opinions and not sound objectives. it is similar to a sweat shop. There is not much support or training of any kind, it is a sink or swim environment. You are not paid for your worth. Definitely, not a recommendation.

A positive place to work
Vendor Services Rep (Current Employee) –  Reno, NVApril 23, 2017
Clear Capital is a leading appraisal management company. Its philosophy of hiring employees with positive attitudes and really nice people seems to work. The workplace culture not only promotes a positive atmosphere but also a healthy workplace culture with every employee given a "stand-up desk". The pace can be fast at times and at times there is mandatory overtime depending on the need.
Pros
positive people for the most part
Cons
noisy at times with an open seating desk plan

Great Benefits, Terrible Management
Vendor Representative (Current Employee) –  Reno, NVMarch 23, 2017
Clear Capital has the potential to be a great place to work. There are so many great people with a amazing ideas. And, I think it was an awesome place to work prior to them expanding to Reno. The management is awful and only getting worse. Mandatory overtime (usually 8-10 hrs a week). There was a point in time where we had almost 2 months of mandatory overtime every week. They have no regard for the working environment of their employees and hardly give any positive reinforcement. They may pay decently and have great benefits, but it's not worth the daily mental struggle. There is a MAJOR moral problem and no one in upper management seems to care.
Pros
Health care and paid time off
Cons
Management is unbearable, Mandatory overtime
