no propper training of employees
Field sales rep/ account executive (Former Employee), Portland Oregon/Kansas city kansas –
Pros: paid the bills
Cons: no life work balanance
Average day consist of 12 hour days 6-7 days a week. No balance between work and life, Clearwire seemed to hire young mid 20s adults to work for the company because they were the only people willing to work long hours to make quotas with no propper traing from mangement.

Clear
General Manager for the Greater Metro NY/NJ (Former Employee), New York, NY –
Working at Clearwire was very rewarding and excelled my management skills even further. As the time progressed I had grown into the General Managerial role, therefore overseeing the entire retail channel of NY NJ and CT market. Our quotas were high but my team and I had great drive and managed to have the best region in the country.

Poorly organized, untruthful product, consistently changing policies
Level 1 Technical Support (Former Employee), Las Vegas, NV –
Pros: good benefits
Cons: disorganized, stringent requirements, too many roles given for the position
The whole WiMax Concept sounded good....even Google, Sprint and Intel bought into it.
My Manager had it in for me from the beginning when I requested a shift change due to religious reasons, very biased treatment.
Every day throughout the day there were emails sent out with policy and procedure changes.

A Day at Clearwire
Operations Manager/Field Service Manager (Former Employee), Washington, DC –
Pros: exposure to cutting edge technology
Cons: n/a
On a typical day at Clearwire, I will start my work day by reading and respond to emails, check for network related outages, run multiple reports, verify my schedule to see what meetings/conference calls are scheduled and ensure that all technicians are assigned tasks.

Daily anomalies usually provide learning opportunities if well documented, should – more...  serve well in the future. The most difficult part of my work day, has to do with knowing when to stop working--given the needs of our network, at a moment's notice, a network failure might occur and as an Ops manager, I always saw to it that I was kept abreast of any such concern.

Naturally, a successful day translate into an enjoyable day. Knowing that I am able to make a difference in the area of helping others and maintaining our network objectives are tantamount to an enjoyable work environment... – less

High Pressure Sales /Hourly plus Commission
National Retail Sales Manager (Current Employee), Overland Park, KS –
Working for Clearwire for the past year, i have only recieved one raise. The company is structured thin, so there is no room for advancement only to transfer to different regions. Compensation is bare minimum. the stress does not equate to the pay. Good Starter sales job, if u are new to the industry, for it will surely toughen u up.

Great company but new technology..
Senior Sales Representative (Former Employee), Kirkland, WA –
Pros: phone/gas allowance
Cons: insufficient salary, no company vehicle, 60hours a week.
The sales/marketing experience that I acquired while working for Clear is absolutely amazing. It was a great learning experience and their training procedures are top notch. I was lucky enough to be able to gain experience in many different aspects of sales. Because the company was so young I was able to gain experience in everything from cold calling – more...  to B2B sales. I achieved Senior Sales Representative status within my first 7 months working for the company and eventually was asked to help train and allow all new employees to shadow my work during their first week. Amazing company to work for but the technology just wasn't as advanced as the company marketed it to be – less

A Good Idea Rushed...
Sales Representative (Former Employee), St. Louis Park, MN –
Pros: meet with customers, help best buy emp's (vise-versa), good pay, and being in it field.
Cons: pushing fellow emp's to really press on customers, lack of cohesion, and didn't start off in best ways, which almost ended the company.
When I began work for Clearwire in 2010, I found it to be a great job; flexible work, decent hours, and hourly/commission pay held up fine. But as time passed the company as a whole may have not made the best choices by borrowing money from fellow companies and not establishing themselves well enough from the start.

Because of these factors I didn't – more...  receive enough sales and my hours were getting cut. Then eventually I have an unexpected call telling me I'm laid off six months later. Soon after I was informed the company had began to implode on itself and return to online sales only in most parts. It wasn't the best move to be placed into Best Buy locations, which gave the impression of the sales staff as solicitors/peddlers... – less

Internet that doesn't work
Retention Representative (Former Employee), Las Vegas, NV –
Cons: no procedures, constant lying, lack of support
The product/service offered by clearwire does not work, and they know it. TOS changes happen weekly to account for the lack of service. Even when all troubleshooting steps fail to provide service, they will still boldly charge everyone termination fees as well as $200 for not returning the modem regardless of if it's returned. The fact that they are – more...  still in business is a shock. – less
