Stumbling into an office position after being on a machine shop floor was quite a culture shock. I didn't have any medical background and was going to school for computer drafting; I had no idea I was going to be working with some of the most talented surgeons and engineers in their fields.
One of the most exciting things about my job is when an engineer comes to me, hands me a part and says, "I need to test this part. It needs to do 'this', by holding 'those', and it needs to fit into 'that'." I love creating things that no one has ever seen before or didn't know if it could be done. I don't believe in the word impossible.
