CHAI is an organization which has separated itself from all other international nonprofits. The mission-oriented culture was apparent during my interview process and continues to be a key part of our success today. When I joined there were many opportunity to implement, structure and streamline operations within Human Resources. I felt that my global experiences could be applied successfully to the organizational development of CHAI where the vast majority of staff is based outside of the U.S.
Please describe your current role with CHAI? What types of individuals are a good fit at CHAI? As a Special Advisor and previously as the Chief Human Resources Officer, my responsibilities are to ensure that the organization continues to mature through increasing resources for its current staff and improving overall recruitment processes. We look for people who are innately passionate about having an impact on global health and saving lives. Individuals who are successful at CHAI bring entrepreneurialism, humility, resourcefulness, and innovation to their work. Collaboration is also essential in both our approach to programmatic work as well as our efforts internally when tackling challenges.
What do you enjoy most about the work you do with CHAI? What makes CHAI Unique? My job is to ensure that the basic employment needs of CHAI's staff are taken care of since ultimately, the staff is what makes CHAI unique. We bring together people from consulting, pharmaceuticals, public health and many other industries to devise solutions to problems that are not being addressed by other organizations. The people who thrive at CHAI appreciate the patient centered environment and understand how we differ from any other international health organization. I am honored to drive the process that enables these individuals to remain fully focused and engaged in the work that we do, which is saving lives around the world.
What do you hope to accomplish at CHAI going forward? I hope that CHAI's Human Resources department continues to be a resource for all CHAI staff members. Over the next couple of years we hope to further integrate our 'In-Country' offices into the Human Resources global strategy. We will also explore new and innovative ways of improving HR and recruitment processes through utilizing technology and mobilizing our staff to have more of a global presence. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
