Innovative San Francisco web and mobile technology and consulting company is looking for a contract Front End Interface Developer (AJAX/CSS/xHTML JavaScript) for our San Francisco office..

This is a Contract Developer-level position for about 6 weeks starting in the 1st or 2nd week of October. Fast-paced and challenging multi-project environment. You will be working closely with our Design, Information Architecture, Technology, Quality Assurance and Project Management departments, depending on the project. As a contract Front End interface developer, you will develop interface solution architecture, provide hands-on presentation tier programming at the highest level, and lead “front end” web and mobile development team efforts in close coordination with our highly experienced engineering team on an array of projects and a diverse name-brand client base.

  • Custom development of xHTML/CSS/JS templates and graphic resources from design composites and reactive design layouts
  • Setting up site, asset, and include architecture for efficient development
  • Configuring templates and entering content into WCMS systems
  • Analyzing creative output for development feasibility and level-of-effort
  • Working directly with IT and development resources to coordinate interface code integration
  • Managing the interface code bug-fixing cycle including concise and complete release notes
  • Deploying site code to appropriate servers within an established release cycle

Required Skills / Experience

  • Top-tier web development skills, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Extensive experience using REST, AJAX, and XML/XSLT
  • Solid understanding of web performance, usability, security, and accessibility standards.
  • Experience using a source control system such as Perforce, CVS, SVN, or VSS
  • Experience with current social networking and web 2.0 tools, platforms, and best practices
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of SEO
  • Strong understanding of up-to-date web design and coding standards, trends, best practices, and current libraries and resources
  • Some exposure to web server configuration and content management system administration
  • Ability to communicate and multi-task across departments
  • Good work efficiency and ability to maintain best practices
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Bachelors degree, professional certificate, or equivalent experience in computer science or web development
