Press Operator, Merrifield, MN - March 18, 2016
A typical day would be you'd arrive at work get assigned to a press, then check the first part you hit and work there for 8 hours. Working there I actually learned quite a lot about blueprints and checking fixtures such as height gauges and calipers and so on. As far as management goes there were certain aspects of it I didn't like. Such as management never being there when they are needed and having to wait for them before you can do anything. Which affects your production/set-up rate which then in turn makes you look bad. Then management asks you why said rates are low. But the people I worked with however were some of the best I ever have. They were always in a good mood and very hard working. The hardest part of the job for me would be the mandatory over time But the most enjoyable part of the job would be my co-workers.
