Productive and fun workplace
Child Care Worker (Current Employee) –  Jefferson Valley-Yorktown, NYJune 2, 2015
A typical day at Club Fit consists of setting up the children's center by putting out proper equipment for games, setting up the children's gym providing games, basketball and bounce castles and engaging with the children and assisting their needs. I've learned immense customer service skills from dealing with many different types of people who come into the club. Co-workers are excellent and have made so many good friends from this job, which makes the work shift that much better. The hardest part of the job is trying to deal with some body who is not really willing to work with you, and that does not happen often.

Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Briarcliff, NYSeptember 8, 2015
Exactly what you'd imagine at gym. Minimal training, no leadership, staff are young high school/ college kids. Disorganized and dysfunctional.

Managers Beware
Sports Director (Former Employee) –  Jefferson Valley, NYApril 21, 2015
Managers are hired to run their department as their own small business, compensation is a combination of salary and commission from sales. Most small business owners would be actively selling their product, but not at Club Fit.

Before you can get to selling your department and programs, you must first complete the following:

Staffing - Despite having a HR team each manager must, screen, interview, process, hire and train new staff

Marketing - Despite having a marketing department each manager must submit marketing up 1 month in advance of a due date and is then responsible for proof reading marketing materials returned by the marketing department. At least 60% of projects are completed incorrectly

Payroll - Despite having a payroll department every 2 weeks department managers spend at least 4 hours completing payroll for employees.

Manager on duty - 1 Day per week managers are the 'Go To' for any problems, complaints, maintenance issues or medical emergencies in the building. You are advised not to conduct any department based work on your shift. These shifts can be as late as 11pm at night.
.
Accounting - You will be processing registrations, completing paperwork for refunds and reviewing monthly income, expense and statements. On an annual basis you will also create a department budget. Oh and you guessed it, there is an accounting department that doesn't do much to help this process either

Community outreach - Enjoyable events, but primarily focused on selling membership, however, not everyone from membership attends, but department managers are expected
more... to attend as many as possible, most are at the weekend.

Meetings - Meetings about meetings every other day of the week.

Sales - If you can find any time left in your week, go ahead and sell.

You will get very little support from the executive team that runs both clubs, simply do everything that is asked of you during a 40 hr week (that is really 50 plus weekends) and you might survive.

If you like working in a high school environment, with very little support, high expectations and minimal reward, then this is the place for you.

Good luck.
