Great Learning Environment for Engineers but with low wages
Engineer (Former Employee), Vancouver, B.C. –
Pros: great place to learn and gain experience
Cons: poor work / life balance and low wages
The Pros: Great learning opportunities to gain experience in Engineering design for building services on a variety of projects. Other firms may focus more on certain types of building projects however at Cobalt I'd say you're usually open to a large variety (offices, schools, post offices, banks, Tenant improvements, retail, hospitals, etc..).
The Cons: – more...  Poor work / life balance and low wages well below industry standards are the main down sides. It's not uncommon to see Engineers at Cobalt work evenings / weekends on top of their regular hours to meet unrealistic deadlines due to poor management while making wages 15 - 40% lower then their counter parts in other consulting firms. – less
