A busy place to work, mentally and physically demanding, mandatory overtime
Maintenance Tech iv (Current Employee), Concord, CAJune 6, 2013
Pros: shuttle driving, got to know all the employees.
Cons: no time for breaks or lunches
Eight hours is not enough time. I learned to drive 3 types of fork lifts and was certified in all three. Management a bit difficult. Co-workers are great. Hard to work almost every Saturday. Enjoyed taking turns doing shuttle driving.

not good in advancement
Assembler, MIC II (Current Employee), San Diego, CAMay 28, 2013
Pros: free lunch
Cons: not good as a career.
Work is easy and can learn fast. The management is not fair for evaluating progress for individual skills always has a favoritism when it comes with raise and promotion. So, it's not what you can do and what you know. It's whom you know or if you have a connection, then you can have a fast promotion and the money is good. co-workers are fun to work with. the hardest part of the job is dealing with people that like to turn you down when they think you're a threat to them because your smarter than them, they most likely to get rid of you to keep the're job. Is job security issues. learning new things, exercise and apply it to work.

SOF Sr. Affordability Engineer (Former Employee), San Diego, CAMarch 18, 2013
Pros: team communication very proactive
Cons: hires by contract
Daily as a team member one would start their day by going on Gimba for comunication walk to maintain a fast pace company schedules. The production schedules tend to be in Kanban and set up to pull directly from forcast.

No customer service
Assembly Technician (Former Employee), Davenport, IAFebruary 26, 2013
Pros: paid well for the area i worked in.
Cons: management doesn't care about the customer or employee relations.
I worked there for over a decade and the new company philosophy is the bottom line and not customer service. Bean counters are now in charge and they don't care if the work is done correctly and to the customers satisfaction. They only care if its done fast and within the time they allow.
The company has gotten to the point that if you don't sit down, head down, and shut up then you are a trouble maker and they will make an example of you. Even if you point out how the process they are changing do not make sense and are making it more difficult to complete the job correctly. With the work we did there is no second chance to get the job done correctly. It has to work everytime the first time. No exceptions.

Too many mergers
Mechanical Designer (Former Employee), ExeterJanuary 29, 2013
Pros: some excellent individuals
Cons: hostile work environment
Continental Microwave, Cobham, Macom and more. All these acquisitions bringing employees together create a secular, politically charged infrastructural. Dynamics from different inflexible factions and manufacturing groups create a petty and hostile work environment. Every merger results in an attempt to consolidate and an employee purge full of back door deals and back stabbing. A lot of excellent individuals with no positive top level leadership to work with.

Good Atmosphere, Educated and Talented Workforce
Buyer/Receptionist/Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Colorado Springs, COMarch 1, 2012
Pros: great staff
Cons: too many people working through breaks, lunch and not caring for their stress levels.
SPARTA had so much great talent and success however, Cobham was too far removed (United Kingdom) to have good tactics and plans for the American Defense Arena.
