OVERALL PURPOSE:

The Human Resources Director is responsible for supporting company goals and initiatives through a strong and innovative people strategy across offices (NY and San Francisco primarily). This role is accountable for the day to day Human Resources function and the implementation and administration of human resources strategy, programs and policies. The primary purpose of this role is to support the company’s vision and help this vision become a reality.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Talent Management:

  • Manage and administer a timely and effective Performance Appraisal process
  • Meet with managers on a quarterly basis to review employee growth and assess promotions
  • Partner with senior management on career pathing
  • Act as a liaison between manager and employee when necessary
  • Assure succession plan is in place for all key positions
  • Partner with Resource Management to manage strategic staffing
  • Partner with Recruiting Team and Resource Manager to identify areas of talent needs, and conduct proper talent profiling.
  • Partner with Recruiting Team to evolve internal ATS (applicant tracking system) assuring all candidates are in the system and reviewed regularly.

Employee Relations:

  • Support culture through training, team building and company events
  • Work with Legal to document and provide disciplinary actions, handles mediations and warnings
  • Conduct new hire orientations in partnership with senior management
  • Work with senior management to help determine employment issues and future employee needs
  • Monitor employee morale through established individual relationships
  • Complete all exit interviews
  • Communicate all benefits (both medical and perk plans) to all employees
  • Manage terminations in partnership with senior management and legal
  • Process all terminations (to include collection of exit interviews, goods, final paycheck, etc.)

HR Administration:

  • Manage benefits program
  • Evaluate benefits programs regularly to ensure best health and wellness programs are being administered and implemented
  • Manage new hire paperwork
  • Monitor and recommend new or revised policy and practice in all areas of human resources management & implement policy/process change when necessary
  • Establish human resource objectives in line with organizational objectives
  • Maintain employee records across organization
  • Work closely with accounting team to administer payroll
  • Research, develop and update policies and procedures regularly
  • Ensure programs and processes communicate and support organizational values
  • Responsible for all employee communication in relation to HR

Training & Development:

  • Assess training needs across departments and work with management to develop new training modules
  • Implement on going training programs for new hires and existing employees
  • Ensure training is ongoing and consistent across all offices

Operations:

  • Assist in the measurement of processes internal and external.
  • Assist with the development, communication and implementation of growth strategies
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement operational infrastructure
  • Foster a success-oriented, responsible culture

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of Human Resources Management experience
  • Employee management/development
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence managers
  • Experience working in a very fast paced environment
  • Broad-based exposure to all Human Resources areas (including recruiting, salary administration, benefits, employment law, training and counseling)
  • Management of multiple processes, programs, procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in excel, word and HRIS management and report writing skills
  • Start-up experience a plus
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant and progressive management experience in this field with a sound understanding of HR Operations, Recruitment, Learning and Development and Compensation and Benefits
  • Employee relations experience handling manager and employee coaching and feedback, performance management, conflict resolution and change management
  • Professional HR qualifications are preferred, with a BA/BS in Human Resources Management or related field or equivalent combined education and experience
  • A demonstrated record of continuous professional growth in a HR leadership position
