Research and Development of Semiconductors
Research Technician (Former Employee), Albany, NYApril 5, 2014
Pros: break system, time off accumulated, state position
Cons: switching from nights to days at the end of the work week
I starting work at CNSE as soon as I graduated from Hudson Valley with my Semiconductor Manufacturing Degree. They have a 12 hours shift rotation and I worked the Night Shift from 7PM to 7AM which took some getting used to. I was very close with many of my co-workers during my time at this position and still keep in touch with alot of them. I didn't want to leave this position but I was offered a once in a lifetime educational opportunity that i had to pursue to better my Career in the Semiconductor Industry.

Research Technician (Current Employee), Albany, NYMarch 20, 2014
Pros: time off
Pay is lower than industry, but job is more secure as it is with the state. Benefits are excellent, time off is excellent. Upward mobility within the state is non-existent.
