Duties & Responsibilities:
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the organization and supervision of the Housekeeping Department with regards to the cleanliness and maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, back of house areas, minibar, and maintenance. To maintain the Housekeeping department in accordance with standards and guidelines established by the resort.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate internal/external guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive internal/external guest relations at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge at all times of: status of hotel room count, group arrival, VIP’s, special events and knowledge of job responsibility of staff.
  • Ensure that assigned staff have reported to work and clocked in properly; document any late or absent employees.
  • Coordinate breaks for assigned staff.
  • Supervise, guide, schedule and evaluate employees of the housekeeping department.
  • Offer all assistance possible to our employees and guest.
  • Administer all aspects of the guest room maintenance program.
  • Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to assigned staff and review priorities.
  • Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, restaurant, spa, pool courtyard, gardens and landscaping, and all back of house areas.
  • Assist staff with their job functions where needed to ensure optimum cleanliness and service standards for guests.
  • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Engineering directly for urgent repairs.
  • Accommodate internal/external guest requests for items or additional supplies expediently and courteously. Follow up on delivery and return of all such items.
  • Conduct training of staff as assigned.
  • Provide feedback on staff performance.
  • Maintain a proper inventory of necessary linen, guest supplies, and amenities
  • Other duties as assigned by the Hotel Manager

Bi-lingual (Spanish) is strongly preferred
High school diploma or equivalent. Some college experience preferred
Experience in supervising or managing a hotel housekeeping department
Open availability preferred
Criminal background check
Strong Written & Verbal communication skills a must

Compensation is commensurate with experience
