I noticed when I started there that the company had a lot of growing to do and thought that was why they hired me. During the entire time they only hired and kept people who fit into their mold. Their racial diversity was only among certain departments and out of upper management. Mental diversity and ideas is only acceptable if you keep it to yourself.
If you don't get into the "it crowd" when you get there, it'll be a short trip back out the door. I found that Matt Lauer situation-like persona will thrives within that company and will keep it and good ideas down. Management are taking notes but only from a select few. You won't go far in the company and your career won't either. They hold onto the ones who stick to the old way of working. If you don't get into the "it crowd" when you get there, it'll be a short trip back out the door. Thought I could help the company, I should have looked out for myself.
