Colortree Group of Virginia, Inc., the Best Litho Product Provider in the Direct Mail Industry, is seeking an experienced Prepress Operator on a full time basis. The successful candidate would be responsible for preparing digital files, layouts for approval, meeting internal and external deadlines as well as maintaining quality standards during all aspects of their daily work flow.

This position is required to pre-flight and prepare files for print and make corrections to files as requested based on direction of manager, client and/or sales leaders. Knowledge of all aspects of electronic pre-press is necessary including digital file formats, common desktop publishing tools such as: PDF, font handling, InDesign ,Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark and Preps on both MAC and PC platforms.

Duties Include:

 Verifying client submissions
 Producing production files as well as electronic page layouts
 The color correction and digital manipulation of images
 Assisting the Production Team as needed
 Assist with the preparation of production files for other digitally based departments

Technical Requirements:

Minimum 5 to 8 years of demonstrated success in Prepress production within a manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate must have advanced technical skill and comfort with various creative software including Quark, Kodak Prinergy, Adobe Creative Suite, within sheetfed, web printing and envelope printing environments.

Previous Prepress or Digital Printing experiences a plus.

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and team building expertise.

A proven success in learning new equipment; a strong practical knowledge of the printing business from conventional and digital prepress to the pressroom. While this position will work in a team environment and will have management direction, this position must be able to make deadline driven key decisions in order to ensure the customer’s needs are met with a high level of quality work and delivered on time.

This position will be trained during the day shifts, however, Colortree reserves the right to adjust shifts in order to meet business needs and therefore, this position could work during any given shift.
