Columbus Hospital LTACH seeks a full time Coding and Medical Records Supervisor to organize and direct Medical Records Services.
Checks admissions information for accuracy and completeness.
Assembles contents of the medical record into established order for permanent filing.
Notes deficiencies to be completed by the physician or other professional staff.
Maintains follow up of records with deficiencies until the record is complete.
Upon discharge, assembles and reviews the medical record for completeness.
Is responsible for implementing a discharge summary and getting it to the physician and other staff for completion.
Responsible for Inpatient coding and Credentialing.
Responsible for admissions, concurrent and discharge coding
Holds in confidence all information contained in the patient's medical record and other documents pertaining to the patient. Complies with HIPPA rules and regulations.
Verbal ability is required to read and understand medical terminology.
This position requires a Bachelor degree and credentialing as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certficate preferred. One to three (1-3) years of experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager of a Medical Records Department preferred.
