Quite and not a lot of contact with people
Health Information - Document Imaging Specialist (Current Employee), Columbus, INFebruary 26, 2014
Pros: great team of ladies, and being able to make a small difference
Cons: early morning hours, lack of staffing
A typical day at work begins at 6 am and goes until 2:30 pm. It mostly consists of getting dismissal charts and putting them in the system making them electronic. I have learned how to better pay attention to detail and an at times complex filing and organizing systems. Management doesn't micromanage but at the same time doesn't always seem to resolve – more... issues. The co-workers that I work with are great everyone is on the same page and knows what needs to be done in order to get the job done in a timely manner. The hardest part of the job would be the early morning hours and sitting at a desk all day not moving around much. The most enjoyable part of the job is hearing positive feedback on a regular basis and having a good support group around to help out. – less

Company sucks!
Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee), Columbus, INFebruary 5, 2014
Pros: some of my co-workers rocked, direct patient care was rewarding job
Cons: sometimes no lunch at all, constant belittling of hard working employees, and praise of lazy ones.
This place sucked to work at, most coworkers were whiny and lazy. The charges nurses play favorites and make the hard working cna's do the lazy ones jobs. It is a very stressful environment to work at and is not worth the stress or money to work there. They treat their hard working employees like the stuff on the bottom of your shoe and praise the lazy – more... one's who sit on their butt all day. It seems like doing your best was never enough and patient care is not put first. – less

Emergency Room Registrar (Former Employee), Columbus, GAOctober 11, 2013
Pros: learning something new or different everyday.

The most enjoyable moment is when you have helped someone in the Emergency Room and they stop by before they leave to let you know how much better they feel.

Outstanding place to work.
Staff Registered Nurse, Radiology (Current Employee), Columbus, INOctober 6, 2013
This is an exceptional place to work. My department of Radiology has so many competent and caring people on staff that we really are like family. Each day is a new opportunity to serve our clients. Atypical day I may be explaining upcoming procedures with pts.; assisting with cardiac studies such as PET studies; or nuclear stress tests; assisting with – more... radiological procedures such as myelograms; LPs; PICC line insertions under fluoroscopy with the radiologist; Inserting PICC or midlines using ultrasound; using ultrasound to assist the hospital with PIV insertions for difficult IVs; responding to any needs for nurses withinour department. In addition I assist at times with vascular access educational needs for the staff nurses who are in oritientation. – less

Cardiac Sonographer (Current Employee), Columbus, INAugust 13, 2013
Pros: call and weekend rotations
Cons: understaffed
A typical day at work consists of inpatient and outpatient exams including transthoracic, tranesophageal, stress treadmill, stress dobutamine, and pediatric echocardiograms. I learn something new every day from a new way to help patients or a new angle to get a better image. The management and co-workers are all great employees. The hardest part of – more... the job is that we are slightly understaffed which makes getting all the exams finished a little difficult. The most enjoyable part of the job is communicating with patients while getting a quality exam. – less

OB Technician (Former Employee), Columbus, INJanuary 4, 2013
Pros: being part of a great team
Cons: some days you worked 12 hours without as much as a bathroom break.
Typically days were busy. I learned to prioritize duties. Management had open door policy and no arguing policy. co-workers was more like family since we spent so much time together. Hardest part was caring for our mom's that had lost their babies but was a blessing to be able to comfort her and the family. Watching the new families leave with their – more... happy healthy baby. – less

Could use a lesson in caring about people
Microbiology Technical Specialist (Former Employee), Columbus, INAugust 22, 2012
Pros: salaried position, independent work
Cons: upper management style of resolving conflicts
Even though the Standards of Service were excellent. They were not applied across the board. Upper management had difficulty with how they treated their employees. Upper management did not give much credit to family life and were not flexible. My co-workers, for the most part, were easy to work with and much more flexible. I really enjoyed this job – more... until management added too much pressure and unreasonable expectations. – less
