Better off unemployed than with this fake company
"Security Guard" (Former Employee), Hagerstown MDMarch 12, 2015
Pros: a paycheck until you find better employment
Cons: this is a negative work atmosphere.
Welcome to the land of security make believe. Worst employer/employee relationship. Rushed hiring process little to no training,no benefits, low pay, poor quality of life,no communication between staff and management. Don't even bother to apply. Treatment by middle management is appalling. Veterans looking for work are treated as if they don't matter. You MIGHT have a correct paycheck every payday IF you even get paid. Even though your hours are documented by hand AND 2x electronically.Forget breaks or anything resembling security duties. You are logistics. Check tags and document. Better off flipping burgers.Job search elsewhere than this dead end job that is about to lose yet another contract

Can be a nice quiet job for college students working night shifts.
Security Guard (Current Employee), Kansas City, MOJanuary 22, 2015
Pros: amazing staff and sufficient payment for services rendered
Cons: there is so much room for advancement that you can easily advance beyond your skill set.
Flexible schedule, nice co workers. Job freedom, not many people looking over your shoulder, opportunity for overtime, nice coworkers and professional supervisors. All of these qualities depend on the site you are assigned to.

Do not work here. Do not contract with this company.
Security Officer (Former Employee), Hagerstown, MarylandNovember 7, 2014
Pros: easy job
Cons: no breaks, no raise, no benefits, no time off (paid or unpaid), paycheck constantly wrong
The job itself is easy. The negatives all come from dealing with management within the company.

They are unable to do simple addition to pay their employees, so paychecks are always off. And when they're off, it takes months before they finally rectify the situation, and the entire time they tell you that you need to get over it and treat you like dirt.

Problem employees are retained, even supported when the client wants them gone, where as hard working employees are dismissed for minor issues.

This company needs a complete overhaul, as current leadership is too incompetent to trust guarding a paper bag, let alone an actual company.

Professional with great management
Security Guard Officer (Current Employee), Buffalo, NYOctober 24, 2014
Pros: a lot of knowledge and experience, college credit
Monitor alarms and check for suspicious activity. I have learned a lot about doing security at a front desk and also in a command center. The management really knows what they are doing and enjoy their work. The hardest part of the job was adjusting to the night shift. I enjoy being the authority when it comes to decisions of what needs to be done.

Security Guard (Former Employee), Union,NJMay 28, 2014
Pros: they will always give you hours
Cons: they give you a hard time when you need time off
The management is good they will make sure you have everything you need the only problem is when you need off they will give you a hard time about it. Most of the sites do not pay that good. But most of the people you work with are good and they make you as if you are apart of the family.

Great pay but no advancement.
SECURITY/RECEPTIONIST (Former Employee), Austin, TXJune 14, 2013
Pros: good pay, easy work, 24/7 work schedule
Cons: almost nonexistent breaks, stressful, no advancement
These Reviews are based on what both I and other Co-Workers experienced at the company I was stationed at, not the company as a whole. Excuse my grammar.

Good:
*Good Pay

*Sometimes can schedule your hours, they always need someone 24/7.

*The supervisors were very helpful most times and understanding.

* sometimes you get overtime (really good pay and hours)

* Easy work, Patrolling or being at a lobby.

Bad:
*Can't go to the bathroom, eat, take a break of any kind without someone relieving you, you could be waiting an hour. And you may be called to where your breaks are nonexistent. You work while you eat.

*No benefits, or close to none.

*No advancement. People are constantly being fired around you, and no one hired. Even the buildings are shrinking.

*The higher management likes to control with "your going to be fired/laid off, we are letting people go" talk almost weekly. which kills the whole "i enjoy working here" and co-workers caring if you get relieved or not....everyone just fiends for them-self and doesn't care mentality. Which makes it harder to work environment.

*Unpredictable. Sometime you get almost 40 hours a week, overtime, and sometimes you get maybe 12 hours. In less you get full time....which is hard to get, and once you have it they seem to be always looking of ways to get you fired, even the best worker.

*Highly stressful, the work is easy, but the treatment of workers makes it super stressful. And feel not worth it. And Upper management says they care, but they don't give time to really listen to you.It seems there looking to get you fired more then – more... help you. (ex: Did you do this, or that...and accusations)

All and all: I got promoted probably as High as I could, I went from a part-time worker to a full time in a short time. I appreciated the co-workers and supervisors for there help and working hard. Honestly i was looking into other jobs before I got laid off. I hated how they treated co workers and myself, it was a highly stressful experience, yet it paid nicely. But just wasn't worth it anymore. – less

There's room for improvement
Security Officer (Current Employee), Union, NJMay 29, 2013
Pros: overtime hours sometimes
Cons: no benefits
There's a lot to do here. You check identification of employees, use a hand wand machine, operate an escan machine and go out on hourly rotations to secure the perimeter. You learn a lot overall in terms of security. Coworkers are great. Hardest part of the job is working in bad weather. Best part, you meet some good people

You don't want to work here!
Writer (Former Employee), Greater NYC areaApril 8, 2013
Pros: nice uniforms
Cons: lack of job security, disrespect for personnel, "resigning" of personnel to make room for new less expensive personnel.
In the past two years Command Security has gotten a new CEO, new CFO and President. Lost a COO, several VPs and most corporate office staff. This has made it next to impossible to get answers when you need them. Everyone is new and does not yet know what they are doing. Most of the new comers are from outside the security industry. Very frustrating. In order to get the benefits promised, you have to sue them. You don't want to work here!
