My tenure as Purchasing Director at The Veterans Center in Spring City, Pa. was fulfilling, both personally, and as a professional. The staff was number one, caring for the resident's needs and desires. Management also put the resident's first, and we had a strong support system, caring for each other.
My best day's were when I solved problems, whether – more...  with staff, department heads or sub-contractor's.
The biggest challenge was in dealing with legal questions; I learned to make decisions based on experience; at times the immediate situation (s) would not allow me to wait for a "legal opinion" from the Legal Dept. – less

This was a great place to work and I learned a good majority of information on purchasing, safety, payroll, and accepting bids. There was not much communicatiom among fellow employees because not many of them got along so it was awkward but I made the best of the situation and talked to everyone. It wa shard leaving there but my contract was over.

IT WAS A GOOD COMPANY BECAUSE YOU COME ACROSS ALOT OF DEFRENT PEOPLE AND SENSE I AM SPANISH I HELP ALOT OF THE DRIVER'S THAT WAS DOING THE DELIVERY'S BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T KNOW ENGLISH SO I USE TO HELP THEM ON THAT ISSUE

I am looking for a position with potential for advancement utilizing my education and expeience in social services

No room to grow unless you have a degree. Other than this it was an ok job.

I enjoyed my employment within the Commonwealth of PA.
Most of my employment I was busy. Being a part of state employment there is always changes. I for one like a challenge for changes. Change motivates the mind and enhances brain power. Project involvement shows how employees can come together and be supportive to resoulve the situation.
