Reports to: M.E. Pearson Site Coordinator for Communities In Schools (CIS), Jamie Thiessen
Department: Program
Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Start Date: TBD; targeted for March 2013
Status: Part-Time

JOB SUMMARY:
The Communities In Schools Family Coordinator will oversee family services and activities for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers KidZone program for 10 hours per week during each month of the program period with the exception of June through August, and winter and spring breaks, as directed by the CIS Site Coordinator.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Experience in working with elementary school and/or at-risk students and their families and schools. Program implementation and administration, volunteer training, and proven leadership skills. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with school administrators, personnel, students, parents and the public. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Spanish/Bilingual required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Coordinate CIS Family Programs and Activities Related to the 21st CCLC KidZone Program

  • Facilitate and document family and student involvement in appropriate programs and activities
  • Monitor, document and evaluate services in areas of responsibility
  • Monitor and document parent involvement
  • Promote positive relationships between all school and CIS stakeholders
  • Maintain appropriate CIS documentation in paper files and CIS Data Management Tool (CISDM)
  • Maintain communication with the CIS administrative office and school staff
  • Other function-appropriate duties as assigned

Travel Requirements Minimum travel, including training, and field trips, etc.
If participating in providing transportation, must have
Valid driver’s license
Auto insurance
Pass various background checks

Failure to properly report to SRS and your supervisor can result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
