Teaching Instructor (Former Employee), Philadelphia, PAApril 7, 2015
Pros: Fun place to work
Cons: Too much work to cover in a small time window.
Learned challenges associated with teaching college students. Most important was preparation for daily classes, and managing time. The hardest part of the job was during the end of semesters and marking grades. The most enjoyable part of the job was student interaction.

Science Tutor (Current Employee), 1700 Spring Garden street Philadelphia, PAMarch 11, 2015
Pros: good atmosphere
Cons: hours are limited to 20 per week
If you have been out of school for several years or just believe that you're not ready for a 4 year degree college, start hear to get your mind back into the education game. I've been a tutor at C.C.P. off and on since 2005 as one of the science tutors there focusing on students who need help with Chemistry and biochemistry.. I love working there as a tutor. The environment is laid back an easy going. No stress. One great place to work..

This position was one of the most enjoyable positions I held outside of the home, as I was paid to do what I love most.
Library Assistant (Former Employee), Philadelphia, PASeptember 24, 2014
Pros: access to books and education, training in library skills
Cons: moderate amount of walking and lifting
This job was a work-study position while I attended Community College of Philadelphia. It entailed working in the college library approximately 10-15 hours per week, shelving and reshelving books, keeping the library in good order, helping the students to use the AV equipment and to find books for their subjects. The management in the library had a deep love for learning and for their students. They were never too busy to attend to their needs; and I personally benefited from their instruction and consideration. The best thing about this job was being around books nearly every day, as well as having association with intelligent people. The payment was modest but it helped me to continue my studies. The hardest part of the job was transporting heavy stacks of books upstairs when the elevator was not in working order. However, this was the one negative element of this position.

Instructional Computer Lab Technician (Part-Time) (Current Employee), Philadelphia, PAMay 31, 2014
Pros: dealing with different cultures
Cons: dealing with management
A typical day at work, working with student workers and students was fun.
What you learned, I learned something every day from students and my work study students.
management, I will not speak about them.
Your co-workers, the part-timers and some of the full timers are fun to work with.
The hardest part of the job, working with the new management
The most enjoyable part of the job, is when I am not dealing with the new management.
