In year 2008, CFS distributed 5.3 million pounds of food, exceeding the goal set at 4.9 million! Last year, we distributed 4.5 million pounds of food in our service area (Boulder & Broomfield counties).
Community Food Share has seen significant growth every year. Ten years ago, in 1999, we only distributed 1.4 million pounds of food!
This steady growth is due to increased efforts every year to bring in more food (find new food donors) and distribute more food (both through our member agencies and through programs like Feeding Families and Elder Share).
There never seems to be a problem finding people who need the food; especially this year, when unemployment is hitting record highs.
Thank you to all the volunteers who have helped make this happen. We are a better community for it.
Thank you also to all the financial donors who contributed, despite the economy, to help their neighbors.
2009 is off to a great start; we brought in more food this month than ever before!
We are proud of our community, enabling us to reach out to ever more families in poverty, and making this a better place to live. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
