Lifeguard (Seasonal), Rockville, MD - June 1, 2017
My time working at Community Pool Service was definitely a good first experience with having a job. It taught me a lot of responsibility and was overall a good first job. However the management of the company and how they handled their employees weren't the best at times. I would have to keep track of my hours on a day to day basis and calculate out what I should've received at the end of each pay period and compare it to what I was paid in order to ensure that they paid me correctly. On more occasions than one, I had to contact the company in order for them to give me the proper pay that I deserved for the hours I had worked. Their organization also wasn't always the best. If a lifeguard couldn't show up at a different pool, they would just come to ours and pull lifeguards from our rotation to meet minimum requirements at other facilities, which often times threw off the balance of our work environment on any given day that this happened. Overall, it was a good first job, but not the best and in my opinion, a stepping stone to better jobs.
