Good Bank to work for.
Branch Retail Executive III (Former Employee), Birmingham, ALMarch 31, 2014
Pros: compensation
Cons: continued downsizing of branch staffs
Strong bank with Executive leadership that I feel will be the reason they remain strong in the future and continue to evolve with the ongoing changes in the banking industry.

Senior Financial Sales Advisor (Current Employee), Mission, TXMarch 25, 2014
*Customer service, open and close accounts
*I haven't really learned anything I didn't already know from my previous employer.
*Most of management is horrible, almost all the managers want to try and implement their ways even if it doesn't coincide with the bank and what the bank is trying to achieve. Most branches operate this way and almost have different – more... ways of running the bank.
*Some co-workers are good and want to be there, but there are quite a few that are disc rumpled and unhappy and it shows in their work.
*Having to deal with my branch manager who is not really knowledgeable with personal banking.
*Not too much that I can say I enjoy other than this bank has all major holidays off. – less

management NOT very professional
management (Former Employee), TexasMarch 17, 2014
Pros: great pay
Cons: unstable bank
I worked over a year for BBVA Compass, & I notice that management was very divided. There was management from previous companies Compass and Guranty, and you could tell who had worked for which company, because of the way things were done around the branch.

Cons: advancement

Their motto states best place to work.... not true !
Sr Financial Rep (Former Employee), Indio, Ca.March 7, 2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: work with no breaks or lunches and 10 hour shifts not get paid to...
The management takes their employees for granted by high goals
and breaking all the labor law violations! There would be days where I wouldn't even get no breaks or lunches... The manager at my location was very unprofessional dressed like she was going out to a bar or night club and I think she needs to get a current drug test I swear she's on a good – more... one... Lots of favoritism and be careful when you report wrong doings on management retaliation starts to happen against employees...

Best place to work .... Yeah right? Best place to get stressed out!!! – less

Terrible place to work with no direction.
Former employee (Former Employee), Houston, TXFebruary 4, 2014
Cons: no job security, health care doesn't cover much, poor management as well as no advancement unless you "know" someone.
There was plenty of micromanaging and very aggressive goals. Not very friendly staff. Systems were outdated.

Senior Financial Sales Advisor (Former Employee), Austin, TXJanuary 21, 2014
Pros: you never see your district manager which is a good thing.
Cons: management. products. systems. online banking was the worst
There has to be a least 50 other banks in the Austin area go work for one that doesn't start with BBVA.

Focus on "Best Place to Work"
Teller (Current Employee), AZJanuary 11, 2014
Pros: benefits
Cons: favoritism
Recently started doing one Branch Manager for 2 locations.
Not accommodating to everyone's schedules more focus on traditional branch then the in-store.
Feels as if we are second on the list instead of being a team.
Job security is gone; location will be closing and seem to focus on saving the part time employees and holding their position but not helping – more... the full time employees.

Favoritism.

Great benefits though. – less

Branch environment - great customers
Branch Retail Executive (Former Employee), Pensacola, FLJanuary 8, 2014
Pros: pay, benefits
Cons: numerous wholesale layoffs
The bank is well led; however, the current environment is one of desperation, which leads to enormous pressure on the work force. Every year there are wholesale layoffs.

Pay is competitive and the benefits are excellent. There are many programs in place for employees to train themselves for advancement. Management is genuinely trying to make the best – more... of a bad situation. – less
