I really loved the job. Unfortunately, the hours were not very accommodating. The pay was so-so, but the benefits and bonuses were great. Sadly, they shut down to move to Jamaica.

Too many meetings and micro management
Account Managment (Current Employee) –  Long Island City, NYJuly 28, 2015
The two things that time and time again are said about struggling companies, Competitrack unfortunately suffers from them both.

Everything that needs to be done here involves a meeting. No one will take ownership and create policy, you must traverse through multiple meetings to finally get a price or a decision. Making for unnecessary time wasting and frustration while you wait.

Micro management has taken on a new meaning at Competitrack. It could be best described as having to ask permission to use the restroom, everything is scrutinized, mountains are made out of mole hills. Management are always trying to assert themselves in everyone else’s success and immediately distant themselves once something may not be going in the right direction.

Recently being acquired does not help the situation as everyone is trying to impress, learn new policies and with internal operational changes it’s a nightmare to get something done.
Pros
Sorry nothing of note
Cons
Lack of direction, self serving managers, no ownership of policy

Pay is terribbbleee. Not everyone gets bonus. You know how their ads on craigslist and indeed talks about how you can make up to $16 dollars an hour? I typed very very fast (90 WPM +), accurate, and I averaged only $13-14 an hour.
Pros
3 weeks of pto
Cons
horrible pay, terrible supervisors, mindlessly-boring.

Customer Service/Pattern Reorganization Operator (Former Employee) –  Queens, NYAugust 7, 2013
This was another fast pace work place because you would have to keep up with your speed by cutting live commercials on everyday television. I learned how to use a computer in many different ways and learning how to work on them at a very fast pace. The management and my coworkers were very great to be around everyday because they were very helpful in any and everything. The hardest part of the day was keeping up with my speed because by the end of the week your speed had to be at a certain level. The most enjoyable time at this job was learning more about computers and how to work on computers better and meeting great people while doing it.

Effective administrative assistant (Current Employee) –  Long Island City, NYJune 7, 2013
The salary is the hardest part of the job.
Co-workers are hard workers trying to earn a Bonus.
The most enjoy part of the job is the flexibility; you're allowed to
make up any hours missed being that there is no sick leave and any other compensation other than PTO; which is earned bi-weekly according to the length of years worked.
