Good experience
n/a (Current Employee), Bentonville, ARJuly 27, 2014
Really great place to develop good experience due to the vast amount expertise we are required to learn to perform all job duties. The other team members are very great to work with and create an overall better environment. Upper management seems disconnected with what our team does and the knowledge level that is required to do what we do which has – more... created some issues with being understaffed and unreasonable expectations. There does always seem to be a new project you can be a part of and that creates a lot of lateral job opportunities which can be good for your resume. It has created some decent advancement opportunities if you're looking for more of a project management role. – less

Was good at first..(Bentonville, 3rd shift temp)
Workstation Engineer - Tier II (Former Employee), Bentonville, ARJuly 24, 2014
Pros: good coworkers, local management and customers... free coffee
Cons: the company in general is a scam, they bring people in at very low pay rates, promise a lot of advancement with no returns
But it turned out just like mostly everyone else has already stated. They promise a lot and never deliver. I didn't even know I was a temp until my 3rd day of work.. after nearly a year I put my notice in, and then they offered me a raise and benefits. There are people there who have not received a raise in the last 4 years and making less than I already – more... did.. and they somehow managed to come up with a raise for me because I was going to leave? I find that insulting and poor care for everyone that works there.

I'm sure that would have been the last raise I would have gotten if I had stayed.

After I left, one of my coworkers followed, then a lead followed, then I interviewed another one of my leads for the job I currently hold. Sadly everyone there is at there breaking point. – less

A lot of promises, no follow through
Support (Former Employee), ARJuly 16, 2014
Pros: a paycheck instead of nothing
Cons: everything other than a paycheck
This company started off sounding like a great place to be with all the promises of being brought on full time in the near future and the raises we would all be getting and vacation time and the promises of job advancements. We all soon found out that this was all hollow wind whispers. When we started questioning it we started getting run around answers – more... and more promises of near future deliveries only to have more empty handedness. When asked about the promise of help advancing to another team they act like you're speaking a foreign language and even coworkers that have been here for a long time will tell you that you have to make your own way and can't depend on management to help you in the least bit. It's also been ingrained into the newer staff that when we are brought on full time to negotiate our pay because there will not be a raise afterwards. Those people have been here for several years making the same pay as when they hired on. All in all I'm very disappointed in my experience here because the people I work closely with are very fun to be with but the management is always disgruntled and under too much pressure to be of any assistance to anyone and when they do give any kind of answers you can bet it isn't anything helpful or truthful. The responses from HR give you the same circular runarounds as management so you have zero help with any situation. Most of the hourly employees at this time are looking for employment elsewhere just to make decent wages or to get payed the competitive wages for the jobs that are being done. In the beginning they bought us lunch often times once a week or more for the work we were doing and to boost moral and show they cared but that has completely ceased now and you're lucky to get a thank you for anything. No I would not recommend this as a long term place to work. I would say only accept a position in this company if you just need an immediate paycheck while you are looking for somewhere else to go. – less

Misleading company. Temp to Perm not real.
Field Service technician (Current Employee), Lawrenceville, GAJuly 14, 2014
Pros: get paid time and mileage
Cons: mislead potential employees
I worked for CompuCom through an outside global temp agency for about 6 months. I was offered a (so called ) permanent job placement with the company. They sent me company benefit hand book stating perm employees getting paid holidays and paid time off. It sound all good. But,after I was supposedly hired on full time. I realized that I was hired under – more... ITWS ( IT-Workforce solutions ). Which is temp position under CompuCom. ineligible for holiday pay and PTO. Of course they don't tell you that when they hire you. I questioned my manager about this and he stated after 90 days I would be full time. However its been five months and I'm still ITWS contractor. I question HR and resource manager. I keep getting the runaround. They promise you to hire you on full time. But, they only hire you as contractor. So don't expect any holiday pay or PTO. – less

Great work enviroment
desktop support technician (Former Employee), Sharonville, OHJuly 13, 2014
Pros: users were very friendly
Cons: wish i had more notice, and maybe have started the project
This project was classified as a migration project. Once I assumed the project, there were other issues to be corrected.
After updating the manager of the project issues, I was directed on how to proceed with the continuation of the project. I had to start troubleshooting problems with user accounts and data verification. Once issues were corrected – more... and verified with the user, I started on the migration of the remaining laptops. After each user migration and the data and function, verified with user, project continued. During and after the project, I maintained an update check to manager as needed. – less

Easy Work but Low Pay
Field Service Technician (Former Employee), Saint Paul, MNJune 2, 2014
Pros: easy work, freedom to create your own schedule, company phone and laptop
Cons: low pay, long drives, i'm still upset about not getting any workloads when i put in my notice that i was quitting
I took this job as a "jobby job" when I left the military until I found a place that I could start a career. I needed money and they were FAST to hire (within a few hours). The job was very easy. I would drive out to my site (which could be 50mi away sometimes), find my parts and make the repair.

I learned a lot about laser printers, point of sales – more... terminals, and other retail based information technology.

Compucom provided me with all the tools that I needed for my jobs as well as a company smartphone (Galaxy S-4) and a laptop (IBM thinkpad).

I was quite upset when I did not receive any more workloads once I put in my notice that I was quitting. I wish I would have told them on my last day that I was quitting. So when you quit this place I recommend giving them notice the same day you quit!

In a nutshell, the field service job is low stress and easy. However, the pay isn't very good and you can find yourself driving quite a bit. – less

Great immediate management structure and operations
Field Technician (Current Employee), Remote Services in Southwest MisouriMay 28, 2014
Pros: personal freedom and schedule.
Cons: personal freedom and schedule, if you are not vigilant you will get lazy and get yourself in trouble
Good communications with immediate team leads and fellow remote technicians. Work load is balanced and time off is usually attainable compared to most on-call remote operations. Overtime is willingly paid without issue when necessary to achieve goals.

Current company structure is in a constant state of flux over the last few years, pay rates have been – more... cut and benefits reduced. However, company does provide a path toward advancement from within environment if that is what you are seeking, and does it's best to keep people if possible I will grant them that.

The job is not for everyone. If you are able to self-manage your time, and keep yourself motivated, then it cannot be beat. Team leads are helpful, but would rather you do your job. The better you are at keeping your notes updated and making your ETAs onsite, getting the job done, and moving on... the better for everyone.
The relationships you form with your fellow technicians and your customers will grant you a freedom unlike any other job. Start your day when you want, get your Dr appointments and errands done that you need, and get your job done in an efficient and productive manner all at the same time. – less
