So, I have a dilemma, and it is very frustrating to say the least.
I posted via dice.com for a CSC position on a Tuesday. I get a call from a recruiter on Wednesday for a interview on Friday. I go to the interview, things go well. I get a call from the recruiter on Monday telling me I got the job. I receive email notifications a few hours later about a Fedex shipment (offer letter with a start date we agreed on) and an additional email for drug testing. I sign the offer letter and fax it the next day. I also took the drug test the next day. It is now a week later and I haven't heard zilch! So I have been trying to call the recruiter and keep getting voice mail. I left a message, but did not receive a return phone call. I finally email him today and get an Out of Office reply. But wait, there's more! He replies back stating that it is possible funding is not available for the position. WTH, over? In the span of a week I am hired and then told a few days later that the position is most likely not being funded. Oh and the kicker is, I see the job was posted today on an IT website. The same exact job I was hired for. It's like being so happy and excited, then within the blink of a eye being punched in the gut when you weren't looking.

This is the most god-awful place I have ever worked. Beware of the HelpLine and Provider Service departments. It (used to?) be run by the Chief Financial Officer's sister. And as inappropriate as she was - which caused several good employees to seek work elsewhere, CSC continued to employ her without any consequences for her loud, negative and intimidating behavior. She could be heard by adjoining offices; she would yell so loud. She had no sense of good management style or accepted best practices of how to run a department.
My most heartfelt advice is to pitch a tent in the park before going to CSC.
Good Luck.

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Computer Sciences?
Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?
What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Computer Sciences?

I recently went for a interview in Chantilly, Va for the Subcontracts Associate Professional position in their supplier diversity dept and had a phone interview for the Document Specialit position in their Lanham, Md location. I think it both interviews went well and I just wanted to know what type of backgroung checks are performed by hr. What is checked in the backgroung checks; financial, education, Credit, past jobs experiences? If someone could give me detailed information on their backgroung checks and any other type of information about CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) (benefits, company culture, etc..) I would appreciate it.

Do you work at Computer Sciences? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?
Any advice for someone trying to get in?

CSC is a bigtime H1B scammer. Don't waste your time!

Ascension healthcare before CSC took over was an excellent employer. However as I worked for years at this location I can personally say that on the Enterprise support desk, AKA most telephone PC support positions the company is lacking as a good employment experience. I left due to this reason, keep it in mind.

I had six interviews with this company, and a background check. On the seventh interview they sent me an email telling me they picked somebody else. Total BS since they are still posting the help wanted. These people don't know what they want! On top of that, I called to find out why they didn't hire me, and they didn't even have the decency to give me an answer after putting me through the grinder. Like I said... waste of your time. Learn from my mistakes, don't interview there.

My experience with CSC.
1. I have an interview with the HR guy. All seems to go well. He arranges for my to have a technical interview over the phone.
2. I have the technical interview that went very well. The tech guy interviewer and hit it off.
3. The HR guy calls me back and asks me if I can come back to meet him on Friday. I look at my calendar and tell him that I am scheduled all day (other interviews). HR guy tells me to meet him on Monday.
4. I show up to meet HR guy on Monday -- he isn't in the office.
5. I call HR guy. He will not take or return my call.
6. I call the Tech guy I interviewed with. He says he does not know what is going on buy will see if he can find out.
7. Tech guy calls me back and tells me the HR guy is upset with me because I would not come to interview on Friday as he first requested. To punish me, HR guy had me come back when he was not going to be there.
In short, CSC is just a jerkwad company. Don't bother with them.
