A day a Concentra Medical Center
Medical Assistant (Former Employee), Milwaukee, WI – August 24, 2012
Pros: skills were utilize, able to grow, consisted training of something new
Cons: very busy, wait time in clinic long, management could do better, long hours
A typical day a Concentra was very busy. Love it but hated because of staffing issues. Although it was very busy you felt like you were helping someone. a typical day consist of drug screens, breath alcohol testing, physicals, trauma center ect..i could go on because it was so much that i did. what i learned the most is how to deal with all kinds of – more... people. Management wasn't the best but I think they could of did more for there employees. The coworkers were always great to work with. The hardest part about working there was not feeling valued or appreciated for the hard work as employees. The most enjoyable part again is always the people. In order to like your job you have to like the people you work with also. Love the people and miss the people. I believe i would of stayed if they hired more people to help with the work load. – less

I completed my 180-hour externship at Concentra. They were a fantastic organization and my time there was highly educational. I was able to participate in all aspects of their urgent care and occupational medicine. I received excellent ratings from my supervisor and colleagues, and really enjoyed the work.

Great place to work minus management.
Radiologic Technologist (Former Employee), Norcross, GA – July 23, 2012
Pros: staff and patients
Cons: management
A typical dat at work would include issuing drug test for potential employees for various companies.Performing vitals for physicals, and overseeing the radiology department of the center. What I learned is that paying attention to detail at Concentra is vital. The most enjoyable part of the day was the people,co-workers and patients. The only con was the – more... management.I felt that i could not come to them on any matter, and they were not people person,I feel as if their job was to see how many times I could get written up.I performed my job to the highest standards, and my efforts were seldomly appreciated by management.I am a certified Radiologic Technologist, and I went beyond my title to do what was neccessary to get the job done. – less

Great co workers and fun place sometimes
Medical Assistant (Former Employee), Oklahoma City, OK – July 17, 2012
Cons: short staffed, cut lunch breaks
I most enjoyed the pay that I recieved, but the management at the time wasnt fair. He had his favorites and they were what was most important instead of the whole staff. The doctors were easy to work with and i really enjoyed some of my co workers. I am stil friends with a few of them. I learned alot working there. I learned to deal with very rude people – more... in a nice and polite manner. I learned a few life lessons working there and I also learned that team work is very important when something isn't going the way it should. The hardest part of the job was handling the paitents that would get rude if their drug test didnt come out the way they wanted. – less

Overworked – July 15, 2012

Concentra says that they focus on providing excellent customer service, but they are more focused on making money from the patients and having a high patient turn over rate. They underappreciate X-Ray Techs as well. If you are an X-Ray Tech, you might as well consider yourself an MA.
