Connecting for Children and Families, Inc. (CCF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of family and community life in Woonsocket. We offer a wide range of educational programs, health initiatives, and social services for inner-city children and their families. Priority is given to families who live in Fairmount, the poorest neighborhood in the city.
Established in 1995 as part of the Rhode Island Foundation's Children's Initiative, CCF continues to be a leader in Woonsocket on child and family issues. CCF strives to help inner-city children get a good start in life, begin school ready to learn, and to achieve academic success. We also want to ensure that children and their families are part of a safe and welcoming community where there are many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
As the designated Child Opportunity Zone (COZ) in Woonsocket, CCF works with the Fairmount primary schools to help children succeed inside and outside the classroom, to provide supports to families so they will be healthy and strong, and to build partnerships with other organizations to maximize services for families. Our COZ encourages parents to participate in their child's learning, improves school attendance, and improves academic and social performance.
Whether it is early childhood initiatives, after-school enrichment, or parenting classes, CCF works in close partnership with families, schools, and organizations to provide high quality, accessible family support programs.
CCF employs professional and certified staff with expertise in a variety of fields, including education, early childhood, social work and public health. Many CCF staff are bilingual and bicultural. – less–ZoomInfo
