The firm helps mostly health insurance and health care providers (but also businesses and the public sector) attract, transact with, and retain consumers through its call centers, software, and fulfillment and supply chain management services. The firm has call centers in Florida, Indiana, and North Carolina – more... that provide customer service, sales, tech support, and licensed personnel, such as insurance agents and registered nurses. It manages more than 54 million consumer interactions each year. Connextions was founded in 1992. The company agreed to be acquired by health insurance provider OptumHealth in mid-2011.
Being acquired by OptumHealth will vastly increase Connextions' customer base and extend its reach across the country. OptumHealth is a division of leading health insurer UnitedHealth Group and provides insurance to more than 60 million Americans. It offers chronic disease coverage as well as mental health and financial planning assistance.
In order to meet the growing demand for its health insurance carrier and exchange business, in 2011 Connextions expanded by announcing the addition of a fifth location in Charlotte, North Carolina. The new 61,000 square foot facility will generate more than 800 jobs. The company also expanded with an additional 400 jobs at its existing Concord, North Carolina location.
