Great Company to work for, the people made the work a little harder then it needed to be. They would push you to your limits and still want more out of you. Good experience, for someone and have to be tough to work here.

During my past 22 years of Airline experience ,I have the pleasure to work for Continental Airlines.
I used to manage 4 ticket offices, 8 direct reports and travel between two cities Rio de janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
My duties were
auditing
Marketing and sales to achieve monthly goals
work within the budget
trained my team
motivate my team

The hardest part of my job description was maintaining all my daily duties done.As I have an extremely focus on my time management, I used to leave the office with everything done, with no over hours.
The most enjoyable part was motivating my team, creating new tools to increase the sales and maintaining the auditing updated. – less

Upper management never had a clue of what was going on in the field.
Most co-workers were interested with what I was doing as oppose to their own jobs.

Best job I'm my life, everyone worked together and safely. When I needed help it was provided by the EAP , there was room for overtime we was also able to daytrade our hours so that we were able to enjoy our fly benefits

ramp operations, loading and unloading, ground power service, pushback aircraft, mail and cargo.
I learned de-icing aircraft from Columbus , Ohio thats lots of experience and hardest They are teamwork players.
I enjoyed good relationship with mamagement and sad to relocate to Newark.NJ

If you have time on your hands and want to make some decent money, then this is a great job. However, if you're married and have kids, this job is a guarantee for you to miss out on a lot of things. You rarely get weekends or holidays off, you be switched from working as early as 5:00 am, to the next week going in to cover the evenings and work till – more...  midnight. You are able to trade off and pick up hours, but with them keeping such short staffing, that's very difficult to do. – less

This was the best company that I have ever worked for and miss the position still to this day. Due to the 911 situation and the airline business recovery layoffs were necessary. I highly recommend Continental Airlines now known as United Airlines.

What an experience....I took the job for the summer between teaching and never went back. Four years of college and life experiences around the world made me the person i am today.

what I learned from working with Continental was ticketing procedures, working with over booked flights, working with non english speaking passengers and assisting with connecting flights, etc...enjoyed working with co-workers in helping various passengers and their issues...

CAL merged with United Airlines & now has Teamsters Union(dues). Good Medical Benifits. CAL.downsized, closed all shops, layed off shop / hangar personnel, etc.

Working for Continental was a dream job. 911 changed the complexion of the business and the required new hires to be on reserve long term. The travel benefits afforded me to visit and experience many new places. I have remained in contact with wonderful people I met while flying and working for Continental. Great company to work for and very productive. Extremely great benefits and flexible hrs. The only downfall I had with this company is the more I new, learned and the more I did the more work I was given.
I would love to reapply and work for this company if given the opportunity.

I was never bored. It offered different places to see and different jobs to do each month, and I learned to cooperate with so many different people and situations.

I flew when it was a great career. We had the support of the union behind us. It was hard and exciting. You see the world and make lots of great friends in all parts of the world.
It was hard to do when I started a family. I didn't want to be traveling then.

Worked at LAX Continental airline engine shop on JT8D and CFM56 engines repair and overhaul as per specs.
After closing engine shop worked at line maintenance on heavy commercial aircrafts b,c,d, checks on following aircrafts 727,737,747
