A fast growing company, at the time of my hire, the maintenance staff was short on help and over worked. Outside contractors came to help make up the difference, mostly electrical, some mechanical.
Learn the process of a chemical gas plant and all associated equipment, included but not limited to mechanical, electrical, and inter locking controllers with PLC's. Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild and maintain. The goal is to fill dry ice contracts to customers. When the plant goes down its consider an emergency, management knew the quickest to resolve the problem was to bring me in during off hours.
The workplace culture is interactive and family focused.
The hardest part of the job would be to keep old outdated equipment working, but that is being replaced. The enjoyable part of the job would be knowing that by quickly repairing any problems would result production goals would be met, and contracts got filled.
