No. Continuum operates six other programs including Tenderloin Care, a storefront primary care clinic; Springboard, a transitional care program for people of color being released from three California prisons; Tenderloin Neighborhood Testing, a program providing HIV rapid testing in the Tenderloin and the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhoods: Prevention – more... Case Management program working with female partners of HIV+ men; and MediCal Waiver/Nursing Case Management which provides nursing and social work services for clients in their homes. None of these programs will be affected by the closure of our Adult Day Health Care Program.Continuum's synergistic set of programs will continue to serve our mission to empower and dignify the lives of under-served people with HIV/AIDS by providing innovative health and human services that establish community, improve health and reduce the rate of HIV infection in the community.
What does the future hold for Continuum and its Clients? We will continue to use our experience, knowledge and resources to provide innovative services to under served people with HIV/AIDS.
What can I do? 1) As long as resources continue to decline, organizations like Continuum will face a challenging funding environment. Get involved in advocacy efforts opposing further MediCal cuts for essential health services. Advocate for increased resources from Federal, State and City government to support and sustain essential HIV/AIDS services. Information about this is available from the San Francisco AIDS Foundation's HIV Advocacy Network at: http: //www.sfaf.org/policy/hiv_advocacy_network.html. 2) Make a contribution to Continuum. Our six other programs continue to provide innovative and quality care to low-income people with HIV/AIDS, including prior clients of the Adult Day Health Care program.
