Excellent healthcare provider. The future of the medical home.
Administrator, Department of Integrative Medicine (Current Employee), New York, NY – January 31, 2013
Pros: incredible satifaction from workingf with excellent healthcare providers and staff, focused on one thing - the patient.
Cons: general stresses of functioning within a dinosaur.
I touch all facets of operations. Working with managers on staffing and process issues and physicians regarding practice management, recruitments, etc.

I am able to evaluate weaknesses and stregths of an organiztion quickly.

I have some of the best managers in the business.

Managing physician preference with business realities is the most frustrating – more... part of my work.

I get the most satisfaction working out operational issues and financial projecting. – less

A horrible place to work
Practice Manager (Former Employee), NY, NY – January 22, 2013
Pros: great salary
Cons: poor leadership, high debt, un-professional
I worked for B.I.M.C. for a little over 6 months before I left. In that time I worked for a practice that announced they were closing 3 weeks after hiring me. Then I went thru hell and back working for another department, so I finally found enough sense to cut my losses and go back to my old job.

An environment where I can learn new things and hopefully others can learn from me.
Staff Nurse - Emergency Department (ED) (Current Employee), New York, NY – January 2, 2013
7am to 7pm shift
Cultural diverse environment
Do no see a hard part of job, but see challenges which are expected in an emergency room .
The most enjoyable part is seeing new cases each day.

A Nursing Disaster
Registered Nurse Psychiatry Beth Israel Hospital (Former Employee), NY, NY – November 11, 2012
Nightmarish bureaucratic regulations. Constant bickering among staff. Would especially discourage R.N.s from applying here. Psych is the worst department- downright dangerous conditions.

Fast Paces Fun
Unit Secretary (Current Employee), NY – October 5, 2012
Working the graveyard shift has it's perks. Nice night staff who gets the work done. Hardest part of the job, the hours. The time flies, especially when it's busy, but it's the night hours and weekends. The Best Part - Meeting different people.

Productivity
Senior Financial Analyst (Current Employee), New York, NY – September 30, 2012
A typical day at work, begins at 9 am. We at Continuum work as self-starters, working from a worklist assigned to you. All Representatives are required to do 40 claims per day, and work them to receive resolution.

At Continuum I've learned persistence, and a lot of patience. My management try the best to their knowledge to resolve any issues that a – more... Rep may have. Co-workers at Continuum are typically very helpful.

Resolution sounds easy enough, however when one is expected to get money from a hard pay master, that's when the task at hand becomes difficult.

The holidays always seems to get the best of everyone, in a good way, so that is the most enjoyable part of the job. – less

Independence and Variety of Duties
Sales Representative (Current Employee), New York, NY – September 8, 2012
Pros: flexible, offer certain independence in the way you plan your day, interacting with people
Cons: lots of running around and you need to be able to handle a variety of activities.
Typical day at work includes checking the e-mail and phone messages and respond back to clients asap. Checking results and making sure the doctors received their reports in time and without errors. Addressing any issues. Then, hitting the road to visit the accounts and address whatever needs they have. Come back to your computer to check the status – more... of lab results/reports: whether they are properly transmitted to doctor's offices and troubleshoot if they are not. Make calls to IT department to fix any software, communication issues, make calls to the main laboratory regarding different specimen issues (not receiving specimens, or mislabeled specimens, mix-ups of any kind, etc.) and address the issues by communicating back to clients.
Help the billing department by gathering and providing any missing billing information.
The most enjoyable part: flexible, gives you independence, variety of duties
Hardest part: running around a lot – less
