Growing Company/ Poor worklife balance
General Manger (Former Employee), Brighton, COMarch 26, 2015
Pros: compensation
Cons: short sighted managment, no work life balance, very stressful
Overall I enjoyed my career at Copart very much. They ask a lot of General Manager at large operations, and the pressure s very intense. Balance between work and home are very difficult to find. There have been multiple times during my career that I worked for months straight without days off. As a salary employee, no matter the pay at some point it just isn't worth the stress. There is intense pressure put on the employees at the yard level to meet and exceed operation SOPs put in place by the sales or corporate teams, but all too often the man power and resources to efficiently make these changes never are factored into the plans. It is left to the yard operations to seek out solutions on their own, and adjust on the fly. Sometimes this is great and leads to new and more efficient ways to accomplish these tasks, but all too often, I saw employees becoming more and more disengaged by the constantly changing expectations of their own jobs.

Sales Agent, Vehicle Purchasing Agent (Former Employee), New York, NYFebruary 19, 2015
Pros: the reputation to be the best
Cons: the environment and lack of pay for hours worked
Great company first and foremost, just absolutely no job security and a lot of horseplay, which I come to work to work. Also there was no opportunity for advancement. Busy call center, trained new hires, not a hard job at all. Just the hours Monday thru Saturday , no overtime but I sometimes would work 50 hours back to back weeks. I love staying busy and working for customers and helping those in need. I loved copart but it was no opportunity to advance.

Title Clerk (Current Employee), Brooklyn, NYDecember 5, 2014
- a typical day at work would be to handle a high call volume.
- emailing or mailing out forms for duplicate title
- most enjoyable part of working at copart would be the comfortable environment made for the workers by management.

Reciever (Former Employee), Orlando, FLJune 17, 2014
Pros: coworkers friendly, compensation was good
Cons: hard worker in gravel pit.
Copart was also a good place to work. Their management though didn't mingle much with subordinates Work/home balance was fair. Online auction business so not much room for growth. Overall I would and have attempted to become a member of their team.

Horrible Experience
IT Developer (Former Employee), Dallas, TXMarch 26, 2014
Pros: some outings, good healthcare
Cons: crazy schedule, no structure, completely dysfunctional
I sure am glad to be out of this company. Their IT department is completely dysfunctional, with most employees overworked. Be prepared to work 60 hours plus every week as well as most weekends. No wonder they don't want to hire consultants. No structure and no protocols. Responsibilities will be dumped on you completely different from what is in the role description, and what was discussed during the interview. No priorities exist at any levels. Managers and Execs are busy with their own agenda. You are expected to know it all with no communication flow. Think twice and more before you look at a position here.

Horrible and dirty place to work
DISPATCHER (Former Employee), Martinez, CaMarch 23, 2014
Pros: great staff and gm
Cons: office manager from hell who belittles her staff
The yard I was at had a great office and yard staff, even a great GM, but there's always one person who ruins it for the company. They have an office manager from Hell who is very unprofessional and has no respect for anyone. I am surprised this yard has not seen lawsuits due to her behavior. I worked here for about a month and a half and walked out on these people. I've worked with a big Corp. before them and know that they don't treat their employees as assets, our maybe it is just her. Steer clear of this place unless you're desperate.
