Major Growth Pains, Low Compensation
Analyst (Former Employee) –  Indianapolis, INJune 7, 2017
Cortland has a severe turnover problem resulting from their compensation being well below market ($10k+ at entry level). The combination of business growth and high turnover is that every department is under headcount & managers are stretched extremely thin. During my short tenure at Cortland, I had little contact with my manager after initial training (which he actually passed on to several team members part way through). There was little to no expectation- or goal-setting. His department always felt very chaotic. Perhaps other teams are better, but I imagine this is par for the course when you go from 4 headcount to almost 100 (in Indianapolis) in 2 years and still don't have a dedicated HR team.
Pros
Nice Coworkers, New Office
Cons
Low Compensation, Poor Management, High Turnover
