About Covenant Transport

Young people rely on Covenant House to keep its promises. The not-for-profit group offers outreach and crisis centers for homeless and runaway youths. Its centers offer food, shelter, clothing, and medical and counseling services, as well as job skills and substance abuse and parenting programs. There are about 15 centers in the US, two in Canada, and – more... one each in Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Its Rights of Passage Programs and Covenant House Crisis Shelters served more than 15,000 people and the entire organization reaches some 71,000 homeless kids annually. The group also operates the Nineline (1-800-999-9999) for runaways. Covenant House was founded in 1972 by Franciscan priest Father Bruce Ritter.

Covenant House is on the other end of the line for those in crisis in the US and Central America. Its Nineline received and responded to more than 48,000 crisis calls from US youth. In Mexico, Covenant House operates Acercatel, its 24-hour national crisis hotline. Acercatel assisted with more than 13,000 crisis calls. – less
